Working towards 1.0


Hi all,

 No the project is not dead... I just have to work to pay the bills sometimes and these projects must be put on hold while I do that. I am however currently working on a 1.0 release of the the player inventory system and a lot has changed under the hood since the last release. I do not wish to release it until I am sure it is complete and I have decided on licensing.

So what's been happening? Quite a lot actually. I have rewritten and expanded the custom editor scripts to make it much simpler and logical to build your item catalogs. These now include item an item picker and graphical recipe editor within a much more functional 'catalog' editor for the scriptable objects.



I also remade all included demos, catalogs, items and and prefabs from scratch, ensuring consistency across the project.

And as a bonus there are now TWO* fully functional demo scenes. One that demonstrates the full system, all its functions and a complete item catalog and crafting tree. 


The other is a simple TDS style game that shows how the system can be minimized to just a couple of items and slots with just a couple of minor changes in the editor.

A 2D demo is in the works.. but it may not be fully functional for the 1.0 release. I am focusing most of my time on rewrites of exiting classes and their documentation. I believe that will help more in the long term than another demo. Though it would be nice to say the demos are all 100% if I can.

Documentation.. is coming soon. I have spent a lot of time rewriting the code docs. Again for consistency and accuracy across the project. How too guides and video demonstrations are also set to release with v1.0.  Expect the v1.0 release this summer.
