Well Day 4... did I do anything?


Life has its way, no matter how much you plan or beg people not to call or ask me to drive to the city for a dinner date and wine and great... entertainment,... of just eating up the hours. OMG... but you have to put the effort into everything you do in life to make it worthwhile.

Due to this lack of productivity yesterday I'm skipping work today,  locking my girl in the bedroom, raiding the kitchen for snacks, and it's only 7 am. 3 days left... with enough caffeine and cookies and can push through to the end now.

My plan today is to finish up the main mechanics of the game, movement, combat, UI, etc... Then I will move on to adding more of the same.. more items, more monsters, more traps, and more maps.

Of which... if anyone wants to know how the maps are designed... The image below contains all the data need to create a level in Ard'af. I tell the game the floor plan, wall orientation details, theme, taps, mobs, doors, and if they are locked or not, level spawn sites, and exit locations. And lots more. The image is actual made up of 6 layers each of which tells the game about different groups or data. This is the map data for level three as it currently stands.

I'm not sure this will make it into the final version... it is complete but the bits running up to this level are not. We'll see
